The mission of the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Contra Costa Master Gardener's Program is to serve California through the creation, development and application of knowledge in agriculture, natural and human resources. The Contra Costa Master Gardener program functions as a volunteer outreach arm of Cooperative Extension, bringing research-based information and knowledge to improve residential horticulture, urban pest management and resource conservation.

The Master Gardener "Help Desk" is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to noon to answer your questions on home gardening and pest control. This service is free of charge and is staffed by experienced gardeners, highly trained to answer your questions. For advice call (925)646-6586 or write to 75 Santa Barbara Road, Second Floor, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. Samples of insects, weeds and diseased plants may be taken to the office for diagnosis.
